Hannah Dempsey

Last June, Treasurer George Ronson wrote to us to enclose a contribution to costs of our daughter Hannah's participation in the World Winter Games in Idaho, as one of 10 skiers selected to be members of the Great Britain team. They were among nearly 3,000 athletes from all over the world (including countries more associated with winter games than we are, and the occasional unexpected country like Eygpt!)

We put your contribution towards the cost of getting Hannah her first pair of good quality ski boots, an essential piece of kit.  George said that you would be intrerested in hearing how she got on.

I am sending an e-mail as this helps me to enclose some photos and a news article from the News Shopper last week.  The games were in February and Hannah did brilliantly, picking up two fourth places ribbons and a silver medal -  she has improved so much in the last year that she was competing against the best skiers in her group and so this was a great result.  There are more details on the Special Olympics of GB web site about how the team did.

Hannah (and we!) had a fantastic time at the games with our Idahoan hosts putting on  agreat shoe, and new Vice President Bidon making a half day visit from Washington.

Sop here are some piucture of Hannah and a link to the News Shopper page is below.

Thank you once again for your support
